Area 10-E 16U/19U playoffs
B16U: 4 teams
G16U: 3 teams
B19U: 3 teams
G19U: 3 teams
All divisions will play a round robin, playing each other team one time, except G16U (with only two teams) which will play each other twice.
Since the teams all play different Area W teams (and in some cases are in different pools in the circuit), the invitations to Bakersfield will be based solely on these round robin tournaments (circuit play head-to-head and misconducts may be used for tie breakers)
All playoff matches will be the appropriate AYSO length (80 minutes for 16U, 90 minutes for 19U). Ties will stand (no overtime or penalty kicks)
Points for all playoff matches will be as follows:
3 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a loss
1 point deduction for a red card
Other than the length of the matches, all rules for the playoffs shall be the same as for the regular circuit play.
In each division, the team with the most points will be the Bakersfield invitee, subject to the discretion of the Area Director who may revert to the second-place team in the case of gross misconduct or such other violations.
Tie breakers:
Head-to-head in the playoff matches
Head-to-head throughout the full season
Standard Area-E tiebreakers considering only the playoff matches
Fewest forfeit losses
Fewest goals allowed
Most earned wins
Fewest red cards
Fewest yellow cards
Most earned shutouts
Goal differential (up to 5 per match)
If still tied after all those are applied the following tie breakers relate to the regular season circuit:
Fewest forfeited matches
Fewest red card
Fewest yellow cards
If still tied, then the winner shall be determined by a penalty kick shoot-out or, if that is not feasible, a coin toss.
